Following the show’s 50th anniversary celebration, “Saturday Night Live" (SNL) will be hosted by comedian Shane Gillis on Saturday, March 1 (3/1/2025) at 11:30 p.m. ET. The featured musical guest will be “It’s Okay I’m Okay” singer Tate McRae.
"SNL" last aired a new episode on Jan. 25 when Oscar nominee Timothée Chalamet pulled double duty as host and musical guest. Chalamet followed comedian Dave Chappelle, who kicked off the second half of the 2024-2025 season when he hosted on Jan. 18. Here’s everything to know about this weekend’s “SNL.”
Yes! After weeks of special anniversary celebrations, the "SNL" gang will roll up their sleeves for a brand new episode live from Studio 8H on March 1. Comedian Shane Gillis returns to host the show for the second time, with singer-songwriter Tate McRae serving as musical guest, also for the second time.
Gillis is a graduate of Trinity High School and West Chester University. Gillis previously hosted in February 2024. He was fired as a cast member in 2019 before he even made his debut after facing backlash for using a racial slur on a 2018 podcast. He has since become the star and co-creator of the series “Tires” on Netflix.
Again, it’s been confirmed by the people over at TV Guide that NBC is finally scheduled to air another new episode of Saturday Night LIVE tonight, March 1, 2025 in the 10:29 pm central standard time slot. It will be a 90-minute event. So, expect it to wrap up at 12 am central standard time.
Live‘s 50th anniversary special is casting a long shadow, or maybe just causing a long hangover, at least as depicted in SNL‘s latest promo featuring this week’s guest host Shane Gillis and various still-reeling cast members.
