In an effort to create salary cap space, Joe Burrow's Cincinnati Bengals have released a former Super Bowl champion as they look to reshape their roster ahead of the 2025 NFL season.

By tagging Higgins, Cincinnati ensured that he’ll be under contract for next season. Until July 15, de facto general manager Duke Tobin will have the opportunity to negotiate a long-term extension. However, tagging Higgins before Tuesday’s deadline should raise an eyebrow from the fanbase.

Cam Ward is considered the best quarterback in the 2025 NFL Draft. The former member of the Miami Hurricanes has risen during the scouting process, solidifying his position as the number one in the class.
