Before the 2024-25 season began, there was concern among Calgary Flames fans as to how their goaltending would fare. While it was widely assumed the young and upcoming Dustin Wolf would earn a spot on the team,

Wolf will defend the road cage against Anaheim on Tuesday, Eric Stephens of The Athletic reports. Wolf underwhelmed in his last outing, posting a .889 save percentage after giving up three goals on 27 shots in a loss to Nashville.

But as of Dec. 21, Wolf has played seven of nine games and won his last three games, including on Monday against the Chicago Blackhawks. In Wolf’s last nine games, he’s gone 7-1-1, almost singlehandedly keeping the Flames in the thick of the playoff race.

Wolf allowed two goals on 28 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Ducks. Wolf has now won four of his last starts, though he hasn't had any particularly tough matchups in that span. He did enough Tuesday to make sure the Flames were never behind,
