The Boston College Eagles women’s basketball team won its second straight game with a 92-89 overtime victory over the Virginia Tech Hokies on Thursday night. Guard Kaylah Ivey drained the game-winning three pointer with 49 seconds left in overtime to secure the win for the Eagles.
With the win, Boston College earned a berth into next weeks ACC Women’s Tournament in Greensboro. With the loss, Virginia Tech takes what many believe is a massive blow to its NCAA Tournament resume. The Hokies will close out the regular season at Clemson on Sunday afternoon.
Dontavia Waggoner sank two free throws for BC (15-15, 6-11) late in regulation to force overtime. An Ekh 3-pointer gave Tech its lead, 87-85, with 2:33 remaining in OT. BC outscored the Hokies 7-2 thereafter, led by Kaylah Ivey’s 3-pointer with 49 seconds left.
