As DeSean Jackson gets ready for his first season as the head coach at Delaware State, Colorado coach Deion Sanders is in his corner. Coach Prime offered another encouraging message to Jackson via social media on Tuesday.

Delaware State University’s football program has added another NFL great to its HBCU football coaching staff. Newly hired head coach DeSean Jackson has appointed Clinton Portis as the team’s running backs coach.

Clinton Portis, who rushed for nearly 10,000 yards over nine NFL seasons with Denver and Washington, is joining DeSean Jackson's staff at Delaware State as running backs coach.

DeSean Jackson’s first coaching staff at Delaware State will include another former NFL player. The school announced that Clinton Portis will be the running backs coach and run game coordinator for the 2025 season. Jackson was hired as their head coach in December.
