BOZEMAN, Mont. — Montana State University men's basketball heads down to Boise, Idaho Saturday to try to start a run that's never been done before: win four-consecutive Big Sky Conference tournament championships.

They’re calling the Big Sky Conference tournament Starch Madness because it’s in Boise. Apparently it’s a potato reference. Kind of clever. Maybe not? Anyway, the Idaho State men’s and women’s teams look to make some noise in the postseason beginning Monday at Idaho Central Arena.

The Big Sky Basketball Championships are set to transform Boise into a college basketball hub this week, with 20 programs playing for a bid to the Big Dance.

Patrick McMahon's 23 points helped Montana State defeat Idaho 75-60 on Monday night. McMahon also contributed five rebounds for the Bobcats (14-17, 9-9 Big Sky Conference). Sam Lecholat added 10 points while going 3 of 5 and 4 of 5 from the free-throw line while they also had six rebounds.
