The Seattle Seahawks have signed free agent quarterback Sam Darnold to replace Geno Smith after trading him to the Las Vegas Raiders.
Last year, Darnold was set to be the second-string quarterback behind Minnesota's first-round pick J.J. McCarthy, but a preseason injury to the 10th overall pick brought Darnold into the fold for 2024. A blistering defense, talented skill players on offense and consistent quarterback play led to a 14-3 record and a playoff appearance.
