Holt, who revealed in February that he is stepping down from his longtime anchor role, will take over as the host of 'Dateline' this summer

Tom Llamas will replace Lester Holt as the face of “NBC Nightly News.” Llamas is expected to take over the anchor seat as well as managing editor duties this summer, the broadcaster shared on Wednesday.

On Feb. 24, Holt sent a letter to his colleagues announcing his departure from “NBC Nightly News.” The 65-year-old called his long career “an amazing ride” and said he is “thrilled” to shift to “Dateline” full-time and work on subjects he cares “deeply” about.
