The San Jose Sharks scratched off, perhaps, the last item on their offseason to-do list when they signed forward Jeff Skinner to a one-year, $3 million contract on Friday.

It’s amazing what a difference a year makes. When Jeff Skinner signed a one-year deal with the Edmonton Oilers on July 1, 2024, hopes were high for the veteran forward, who had scored 30 or more goals six times in his career.

The Sharks continued a dizzying two-week period by trading defenseman Henry Thrun to the Toronto Maple Leafs for enforcer Ryan Reaves on Thursday night and signing fellow forward Jeff Skinner to a one-year, $3 million contract on Friday.
