The epic first footage from James Gunn's Superman reboot has finally arrived, and it's full of exciting character debuts.

The first trailer for writer-director James Gunn’s “Superman,” which premiered on Thursday morning, marks the official debut of the new Man of Steel as played by David Corenswet, as well as the love of Superman’s life, Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan), and Superman’s archenemy, Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult).

At a preview event, 'Superman' filmmaker and DC Studios exec James Gunn spoke about staying true to the character's origins and updating its journalism backdrop for today.
