The tech pioneer warns that skills for business success don't translate to effective governance — a direct challenge to Elon Musk's new government role.

Apple cofounder Steve Wozniak says a software’s user interface is “the most important thing”—and on that metric, Tesla fails miserably. An early Tesla adopter, Wozniak has since soured on the carmaker and CEO Elon Musk after a number of software changes he says destroyed the driving experience.

Wozniak, 74, co-founded Apple with Steve Jobs in 1976. It’s hard to imagine a time when Apple wasn’t known as the world’s leading tech company. But during its early days, its intuitive interface was an anomaly in the industry—an approach that today’s A.I. companies would do well to emulate, Wozniak said.

Speaking on the sidelines of MWC 2025, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak also lamented how big tech companies “own our lives”.

The entrepreneur also accused Musk's Tesla of shoddy design and minced no words in trouncing President Donald Trump.
