After eight years as North Carolina’s chief executive, Gov. Roy Cooper is saying goodbye to the office. Cooper is returning home to Nash County Wednesday to deliver his farewell address. Cooper’s office says he’ll reflect on his time as the 75th governor of the Tar Heel state.

Cooper came full circle when he returned to the same place where he launched his gubernatorial campaign nine years ago. At Nash County Community College, he spoke of the progress, prosperity, and potential of the state he loves dearly.

Cooper reflected on his accomplishments as governor, including Medicaid expansion and North Carolina's growing economy and infrastructure investments.
