Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 review: definitely not a $549 RTX 4090
At $549, the RTX 5070 will also come up against AMD’s new $549 Radeon RX 9070 and $599 Radeon RX 9070 XT when they launch on March 6th. If AMD manages to beat Nvidia’s RTX 5070 or come close to the $749 RTX 5070 Ti, that’s going to put a lot of much-needed pressure on Nvidia’s pricing.
Nvidia might never top the RTX 4090
Nvidia can’t deliver a generational uplift on the level of the RTX 4090 unless transistors get smaller, and that’s becoming increasingly difficult to accomplish. If we do ever see a flagship that can lead the pack like the RTX 4090 has, it won’t come from jumping down to a smaller node.

For all that, it's still not necessarily a bad card—it's a little faster than the $599 4070 Super at the same $549 price that Nvidia used for the RTX 4070. It still represents Nvidia's minimum viable 4K GPU, once you factor in DLSS upscaling, and it’s well suited for people with 1440p monitors.
