The Montgomery Police Department has charged a man capital murder and two counts of robbery in a November shooting. Ja’Kyeri McCovery, 19, of Montgomery was taken into custody Wednesday as the suspect in the Nov.

The Montgomery Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation after the death of a Montgomery woman. MPD and Fire Medics responded to the 300 block of Georgia Street around 9:09 a.m. Monday after a report of a shooting. Courtney Gunn, 26, was found with a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced dead, police said.

Devondrick Jones, 35, of Montgomery was identified and taken into custody Wednesday as the suspect in the Dec. 9 shooting death of Courtney Gunn, 26, of Montgomery. He has been placed in the Montgomery County Detention Facility under no bond. Police say they are continuing the investigation of the incident.
