Jade Jones is targeting a professional boxing debut fight in September after setting herself a “crazy” challenge to switch from Taekwondo.

LONDON -- Jade Jones, a two-time Olympic gold medalist in taekwondo, is launching a career in boxing. Jones took gold for Britain in 2012 and 2016 and competed in four Games, most recently in Paris last year. But, at the age of 31, she has announced her move to boxing.

Jade Jones has announced her retirement from taekwondo, as the double Olympic champion gets ready to start the next chapter in her life as a professional boxer.

Two-time Olympic taekwondo champion Jade Jones of Great Britain is switching sports to boxing. "Some days I wake up and think, am I absolutely crazy? Do you know what I mean?" Jones, 31, said in a BBC Breakfast segment that aired Friday.
