Humpback whales have long impressed us with their incredible travel distances. Now, one impressive male has blown away the migration record.

The adult male swam more than 8,000 miles from South America to Africa, most likely in search of a mate, researchers said.

A young male humpback whale has been spotted fraternizing with females in two different groups located on opposite sides of the world, with a record-breaking journey of more than 13,000 kilometers (or 8000 miles) between them.
