The fast fashion market has grown significantly in France, with advertised product values increasing from 2.3 billion euros in 2010 to 3.2 billion euros in 2023.
The bill would also eliminate tax advantages for “donating” unsold stock by ultra-fast-fashion brands, which are not permitted to destroy unsold items under an anti-waste law passed in 2020.
Fast fashion is a growing market in France, and between 2010 and 2023 the value of advertised products in the sector grew from 2.3 billion euros to 3.2 billion euros.
