New York prosecutors on Wednesday laid out new details in the disturbing case and revealed that two children, ages 7 and 12, were coerced into abusing Nordquist.

Seven people accused of killing a 24-year-old man in upstate New York subjected him to weeks of torture that included sexual assault, forcing him to eat feces and pouring bleach on him, prosecutors said Wednesday.

Seven people are now charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of Mr. Nordquist, a transgender man whose killing has drawn national attention.

"They physically restrained him, treated him like a dog, covered his face with towels and fabric, used duct tape on him, and poured bleach on him."
