One uses an Apple DVI-VGA converter and one uses a ADC-VGA converter bought from Dr Bott I think. I think the 15" is on the DVI adapter and I use a res of 1024x768 at 75 or 85 Hz.
Most desktop dvi ports are DVI-I. Theres no loss in quality unless its a crap cable. You can also get a dongle that adapts a dvi-i port to vga to use a regular vga cable with.
