Birds-of-paradise are known for their extravagant courtship displays, featuring elaborate dances and vividly colored plumage.

Named after the elaborate structures, or bowers, built and decorated with colourful objects by the males, bowerbirds have one of the most unique courtship rituals in the animal kingdom.

In order to capture the dazzling, courtship display of the little-known Flame Bowerbird the crew first had to reach a remote forest in Papua New Guinea, a 6-hour boat journey from the nearest town.
