During Miami Art Week the deal-making, socializing and celebrity gawking at Art Basel and satellite art fairs can vie for attention with the dizzying floor plans of gallery booths. But there’s a wealth of other options around town that serve up art viewing at a different tempo. Here’s a sample of the offerings.

It may seem like Art Basel has been going on for days already, with gallery events, parties and openings popping up throughout the week. But the official fair at the Miami Beach Convention Center opens to the public tomorrow and I got a sneak peak at what awaits.

Miami Beach Art Basel wrapped up with a record-breaking economic impact, fueled by high-profile attendees and growing interest in the global art scene.

Housed as always in the Miami Beach Convention Center, the event is also the last major art fair in a year full of them, including previous Art Basel editions in Hong Kong in March; Basel, Switzerland, in June; and Paris in October. Not to mention four far-flung Frieze fairs and a couple put on by the European Fine Art Foundation.
