The feature, first introduced in 2022, has seen Amazon customers thank their drivers 40 million times, according to the company.

Only the first 2 million delivery drivers will receive the monetary incentive, but drivers will still be notified of your appreciation every time you thank them through the smart device. This promotion comes on the heels of a global Amazon workers strike on Black Friday calling for better wages and working conditions.

The promotion allows thankful customers to tip their most recent delivery driver $5 at no cost to the customer by stating “Alexa, thank my driver” from an Amazon Alexa device or by selecting it in the Amazon app.
