Central Floridians are set to get new ALDI stores in Deltona, Orlando, St. Cloud, Melbourne, Ormond Beach, Holly Hill, Port St. John and Leesburg, according to an ALDI spokesperson.

At some point next year, these Winn-Dixie supermarkets will become Aldi stores:

Ald. Ronnie Mosley (21st) said the closure is a breaking of a promise that Aldi would remain in the neighborhood.

Last year, Aldi acquired Winn-Dixie and Harveys from Jacksonville, Fla.-based Southeastern Grocers. The deal includes grocery store locations across Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana and Mississippi.

Aldi has confirmed that four of its Winn-Dixie stores will be closing for renovations in December and January and will reopen later as Aldi stores. They are among 50 Winn-Dixies and Harveys Supermarket locations that Aldi promised to convert after finalizing its purchase of Winn-Dixie parent Southeastern Grocers in March.

Multiple South Florida Winn-Dixie locations are being converted to Aldi discount grocery stores in the coming months.
