No. 11 Miami plays host to Wake Forest on Saturday in its regular-season home finale. Miami would assure itself of a berth in the Atlantic Coast Conference title game and remain on track for a spot in the College Football Playoff by beating Wake Forest and then Syracuse next week.

Wake Forest is 114th in the nation in points allowed per game and 130th nationally (out of 134 FBS teams) in passing yards allowed per game. Cam Ward and Miami’s offense, coming off its worst performance of the year against Georgia Tech, should feast.

Quick slant: Miami had a bye week to recover and fix its issues after losing its first game of the season. Now the Hurricanes have to pick up a pair of wins in their final two games to secure a spot in the ACC title game and keep their path to the playoffs alive.

Officially, the College Football Playoff field gets announced on Dec. 8 and the first game of the tournament is on Dec. 20. Those dates don’t really apply to Miami.

The Hurricanes still control their path to both the ACC Championship Game and the 12-team College Football Playoff if they win out the rest of their schedule.

Miami will be eager to shake off a loss to Georgia Tech, and Wake Forest's dreadful defense can help them do just that. But the Demon Deacons will also get in on the scoring in an early Saturday thriller.

The Wake Forest Demon Deacons (4-6, 2-4 in ACC) head south to Hard Rock Stadium to face the Miami Hurricanes (9-1, 5-1 in ACC) on Saturday, November 23rd at noon on ESPN. Wake has split their rivalry games against NC State and UNC this season beating the Wolfpack by four but losing to the Tar Heels by seven.
