Since late November, nine people have needed rescues on the South Loop Trail, a challenging and steep hike up to the peak of Mount Charleston.

Nine people have been rescued from the South Loop Trail on Mt. Charleston in the past three weeks due to slippery conditions and lack of proper equipment.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is urging hikers to be cautious and take precautions while out hiking at a popular Mt. Charleston trail. According to the department, its Search and Rescue (SAR) teams have conducted four operations on South Loop Trail in the past several weeks,
