Kerr County officials issued an emergency alert Saturday night for severe weather temporarily stopping volunteer search efforts.
Colorado has sent Task Force 1 to Kerr County, Texas, to assist in searches and cleanup efforts along the Guadalupe River.
At a Wednesday morning press conference, Kerr County Sheriff Larry Leitha declined to answer a question about delayed emergency alerts, saying that an "after-action" would follow the search and rescue efforts. "Those questions are gonna be answered," he added.
The administration supported search and rescue operations in Kerr County, Texas, after at least 120 people died and dozens went missing in deadly floods.
It’s the first time a new round of severe weather has paused the search since the flooding earlier this month.
The FEMA message archive shows that as the water began rising in Kerr County on July 4, the National Weather Service sent an IPAWS flood warning to cell phones as early as 1:14 a.m.
