The Delhi government has implemented a perpetual ban on the manufacture, storage, sale, and use of firecrackers, extending even to online platforms, in an effort to tackle the city's severe air pollution issues.

New Delhi: The Delhi government, on Thursday, announced a complete ban on all types of firecrackers in the national capital with immediate effect throughout the year, starting from January 1, 2025. According to a government order issued in this regard, the sale, storage, and use of firecrackers will be completely banned.

On November 11, the Supreme Court asked the Delhi Government to decide on banning the use of firecrackers throughout the year.

Amid continuing air pollution crisis, the Supreme Court on Thursday ordered a complete ban on firecrackers in Delhi-NCR till further orders.
