Josh Brolin opened up about 'almost' getting into a fight with Denzel Washington on the set of their 2007 film, 'American Gangster'

Josh Brolin recently opened up about a tense moment he shared with Denzel Washington on the set of the 2007 crime drama 'American Gangster.' Directed by Ridley Scott, the film starred Washington as the notorious criminal Frank Lucas and featured Brolin in a supporting role during a pivotal point in his rising Hollywood career.

Before Washington starred in Gladiator 2, he appeared in director Ridley Scott’s 2007 crime drama, playing criminal Frank Lucas. His co-star in the film was Brolin who, at the time, was a rising Hollywood star who would go on to play Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

In American Gangster, Brolin played a detective investigating Washington's lead character Frank Lucas, a prominent New York City gangster in the '60s and '70s. For Brolin, the movie was an opportunity to work with "some of my favorite actors" — but he and Washington experienced trouble when Washington changed Brolin's lines for a scene last minute.
