In consideration of the weather conditions of Delhi, the Supreme Court permitted the relaxation of GRAP Stage IV restrictions in Delhi NCR to GRAP Stage II, while the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) revoked Stages IV and III of GRAP in the region.

A panel discussion titled 'Solutions to Pollution' was held at IIT Delhi, which highlighted the deteriorating air quality in the capital which worsens every year, particularly during winter.

Delhi's air quality remained 'poor' Friday morning with a thin layer of fog and temperatures dropping to 6°C. AQI ranged from 228 to 334 in various areas. Tourists expressed surprise at the cold, while some locals found it challenging.

The 24-hour average air quality index (AQI) stood at 288 (poor) at 4pm on Thursday, from Wednesday’s 4pm reading of 199 (moderate).
