Toyota has led the industry with its gasoline-electric hybrids for decades now, yet the Japanese giant has all but abstained from offering a fully fledged EV. Its only EV offering is a frumpy little crossover named after a fax machine that has yet to impress anyone,

Along with the huge price reduction for both the XLE and Limited trims, Toyota also added a new Nightshade edition to the electric crossover's lineup.

The 2025 bZ4X retains its powertrain, producing 201 horsepower for FWD and 214 hp for AWD models, with acceleration from 0-60 mph in approximately 7.1 seconds and 6.5 seconds, respectively. The electric crossover's EPA-estimated range of up to 252 miles on FWD models and 228 miles on AWD models are retained for the new year.

Also new for 2025 is a Nightshade Edition that brings the blackout treatment previously seen on Toyota hybrids to the all-electric bZ4X for $41,815 with destination. Based on the XLE grade, Nightshade models add black 20-inch wheels, as well as a black rear spoiler, door handles, and badges, on the outside, and red contrast stitching on the inside.
