The National Weather Service says a tornado hit Pontotoc County early Tuesday morning, with Ada getting hit the hardest. The city has seen significant damage and closures as crews work to repair the devastation.

The Oklahoma Standard already showcased for the first tornado of the season, as Ada and other southern communities start cleaning up.

An unusually powerful March storm is trekking across the country with a wide range of hazards, from strong winds that could set off blizzard conditions and dust storms to severe thunderstorms that could produce tornadoes.
