The Pittsburgh Steelers and star pass rusher T.J. Watt have agreed to terms on a three-year, $123 million contract extension, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported Thursday.

When it comes to the Trey Hendrickson contract saga, the Cincinnati Bengals aren’t impacted too much by the T.J. Watt extension in Pittsburgh. The Steelers hit Watt with a three-year contract worth $123 million with $108 million fully guaranteed. An average of $41 million per year completely resets the edge market.

Last season with the Steelers, Watt played in all 17 regular season games. He racked up 61 tackles, 11.5 sacks, six forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and four defended passes. Those numbers make the Pittsburgh superstar one of the best defensive threats in the NFL.
