Sorry we did not use a tour guide but do give a good 4 hours to enjoy the valley . Do start at the “top” as then you will be walking down a gentle but persistent slope rather than walking up. Take water and anything else you enjoy even a picnic, as there is not very much to buy onsite. Better to buy beforehand and take with you … also a rug to other blanket to sit on ! Museum is great truly awe inspiring! Allow at least two hours as it helps understand how the Temples were built . It’s all a glorious affirmation of what humans can achieve . This is equivalent to anything we have achieved for the Greeks and Romans!

I'll be visiting the temples in mid-June and would like to hire an English-speaking guide with extensive knowledge of the site. If any one has any recommendations, I would love to hear them. Also, if anyone has visited in June (not during Pandemic) and can tell me what their wait was like to get tickets or how hot it got... Some people swear going early is best, others say sunset (maybe both!)

We organised a tour from Palermo with an excellent tour guide who spoke excellent English and had a magnificent knowledge of the temple complex. Travelling in May was ideal. Temperature around 26 centigrade. There was no wait for tickets, this was mid week and out of the main season. Our paperwork said that the local partner was "tour transfer Sicily" the cost of entry was only 10 euro but the trip transport from Palermo including the guide was more than €50.

Sorry dreadfully late. Agrigento is 5 Kms distant from the site of the temples. We walked the town and the incline of the streets. NOT to be recommended for summer. When we were there Dolce and G. Had a show which meant that we could not get close and personal with the temples.
