The RAF Sculthorpe Heritage Centre tells the history and stories of North Norfolks only USAF atomic base. Once the largest and most strategically important American airbase, home to 10,000 personnel. For over a decade it was the atomic deterrent against the Soviet Union. We are open on the first Sunday of the month, but please check our social media or website for all our events and keep up to date! We also offer homemade cake all made in our 5 star rated kitchen. We can also offer vegan and gluten free cakes. Why not purchase genuine US Soda and Chips from our 5 star rated cafe! Dogs are very welcome.

West Raynham was my last posting in the RAF in 1967.I was in married quarters at Sculthorpe though, as it was used as an overflow site. There was a small US contingent there something to do with drop tanks.they had all the right gear for winters in Norfolk padded jackets & trousers while we had the same uniform with was worn all year. I think they had a v8 pickup each as well. I lived in Lancaster road and was a weapons technician serving the gun packs on 1 sqdn hunters Good luck with the museum Michael Clayton
