Blue Bell Stables has a deliberate disregard for basic safety measures. They have a policy that riders and wranglers cannot bring water on the ride. Wranglers do not have any first aid supplies or em… Full review by Amanda L

Hi, Nomad. All rides are incredibly scenic. Even our new for 2023 Half Hour Intro Ride takes you through beautiful backcountry and crosses the creek. Check out our Custer State Park Resort site for full details on the rides. Most times, One Hour is the most that a novice rider will want to try, since the sitting position is different than what most legs are used to. :) Having said that, we are happy to help talk you through the rides so that you can make a solid decision for yourself. We'd love it if you give us a buzz at Blue Bell Lodge directly so that we may help. Thank you!
Q:
Do you pick up at any area campgrounds?
A:
Custer State Park Resort does not offer any custom transportation services. We hope that you can find a ride to our Stables at Blue Bell Lodge!

I tried to call they must not be open until May. If I am close to the weight limit what will they do? I would like the 2 hour ride for I and my husband. I'm 225 lbs, but I fluctuate to 235 lbs at times, generally I lose some weight during summer time. Will they make me step on a scale and prove it? Thanks in advance!! I don't want to get embarrassed or upset on vacation if they should pull out a scale and say, oops you are 234 lbs - you can't come riding!!!

Hi, karapugs, we hope that you were able to enjoy your ride! The weight limit all boils down to whether or not the saddle will fit properly for guest safety. Above 230 lbs, riders must be 6' tall or more. Anyone who is borderline with the weight limit could risk not being able to go, should everything not fit properly. Our wranglers are well-trained in making this assessment with some advance conversation ahead of time. We have a checkbox now on our online reservation system where guests can indicate if they are 230lbs or more, which then flags our teammembers to call you in advance and discuss options from there. Hope this helps! Thank you!
