This is definitely one of the premier Loire Valley chateaux. It’s huge and pretty. We liked it less than other castles we visited. The history of the place seemed less interesting though well present… Full review by IndianaTravelmom

Can I get from Tours to Villandry by public transport?

I also had a rental car, but actually you can reach Villandry also by train, bus and...uber.

Can you re-enter after leaving the chateau and garden? I saw a restaurant just outside but wanted to return to resume my tour.

If you ask at the gift shop near the exit, they will put a stamp on your arm and you can return on the same day. My son did this no problem.

About two hours is good. We were there in the early afternoon. It’s beautiful.
