It runs from the Palace of Westminster to Blackfriars Bridge in the City of London. Take a walk and you will see all the lovely sights of London from here! Full review by OZS_ATW
Hi, I bought the tickets for London NYE for this area. I am coming with 2 children aged 10 & 7. Any particular suggestions? Thanks

Hi Silvia, London weather may or may not make walking around very pleasant. I see that today it is between 40 degrees and 50 degrees F. So I am suggesting two alternatives: #1 (if the weather is nice): The London Eye is between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge. The boats that cross the Thames do have a drop off and pick up point here. Young visitors would probably like a trip on the Thames. Other really fun outdoor things to do are down toward the Westminster Bridge (South Bank) where there are a couple of amusement rides, a skateboard park (lots of fun to see the little ones trying out their tricks), and access to the small little beach strip called Ernie's Beach. #2 (if the weather is cold and damp): Travel by foot toward Westminster Bridge and there is a big building (used to be a county building) which has been converted into an amusement arcade and an aquarium. There's also an attraction called "Shrek's Adventure." There's also a McDonald's and Pret a Manger so the options to grab a quick snack (always high on the list for young folks) at a reasonable price. The London Eye will have massive lines (always and always) and the capsule makes a slow rotation up and around the wheel. We seem to recollect it takes about a half hour to make the revolution. Lots of glass everywhere so it is easy to see the views. Young folks are not always as tolerant about walking great distances (that has been our experience) but if your visit will last a few days, I'd recommend going to the Tower of London. We bought our tickets online and were able to save massive amounts of time others spent waiting in line. The Tower Bridge is 4 bridges up from Waterloo Bridge but, in our opinion, very walkable. The docent guides (called Beefeaters but that is not a term they like) are so funny and there is so much to see. It is easy to spend a whole day there. There are food vendor stalls and places to sit and relax. You can do the tour by yourself without a Beefeater (no charge for that service) and you can do both. It's an entire little Medieval village. If there is something else I can help with, please send me a PM (personal message) through TripAdvisor.
Are there many seats to sit on along the Embankment walk. I am slightly disabled but can walk short distances.
