the largest charity school in Africa. Founded by Gemma Sisia in 2002 with only 3 students, The School of St Jude now provides free, quality education to more than 1,800 students. 1,100 students board at the school and more than 300 Tanzanian staff are employed. Students are selected based on their academic potential and genuine financial need, which means full scholarships for bright children who would otherwise miss out. Each year over 1,300 visitors come and see firsthand the impact donors and sponsors of the school have on the lives of its students, staff, their families and the community. There's an onsite art gallery of student artworks and the Visitors team help with your own personal itinerary. They can organise a wide range of activities including safaris, cultural tours, home visits and activities with students. There's comfortable accommodation for overnight guests.
