Hi Jill, You will need to check with the car rental company. Many of them do not authorize driving on unsealed roads if they are not 4 x 4, and that can create problems if they find any damage to car especially if they blame you for under carriage damage that none of us ever see!. There is no problems otherwise with the roads as they are generally good gravel surfaces. Care might be needed following rainy periods. Enjoy yourself!
