Absolutely amazing! 100% worth the trek to the top, I even did it in my flip flops through wet rocks! The water isn't as warm as I thought it'd be but nonetheless it's still worth the dip! Full review by sc00bs222

At the park entrance, we had to pay 40 Q'les each. As all tracks are well marked and maintained, a guide is not really required. At 8:50am, we started the 400m into the forrest. The stairs towards th… Full review by maninpak

Beautiful place, difficult to get to. There is a gas station right before going down into Lanquin and all the truck drivers harrass you to get you to let them drive you down there. If you say no, the… Full review by JennaH11184

We did it in Apr & there were several days of rain during our time in Guatemala. The day before our trip to Semuc, the heavens opened in Lanquin & we thought the pools would be brown, even if we even could get to them. No problem...the trucks & buses that take you appear to me to be ready for this weather, they can't afford to stop all operations for the whole rainy season. I think you'll be ok. have a look at Semuc reviews & search for some for September time. Good luck, it's worth it

I’m trying to decide what to do with my last 3 days in Guatemala. I’ve been studying Spanish at a language school in Antigua and I want to take a trip my last few days. I’m trying to decide between going to Xela, Rio Dulce, or Semuc Champey. I would like to leave Saturday morning (the 29th of June) and spend the night in Guatemala City on Monday (the 1st of July), my flight is the 2nd in the afternoon, so I need to spend the night in the city. In Xela, I’m really interested in visiting Fuentes Georgina. I think it could be relaxing after studying for so long. I would think Semuc Champey could be elaxing while also exciting. I’m just worried about the weather. It hasn’t been raining much in Antigua, so it makes me feel like it will be okay. In regards to Rio Dulce, I think the nature looks gorgeous. Can someone point me in the right direction? I can’t make up my mind

Semuc Champey is wonderful but it's about 7 hours ride either by car or bus. I would stay in Antigua which is only 45 minutes from the airport. And go to Lake atitlan (2 hours from antigua), which is very relaxing and the views are incredible. The problem with Rio dulce, and semuc champey, its that you are going to spend a lot more time in transportation.

I’m planning a Guatelama trip in August for 17 days. I would love to make it to Semuc Champey and Rio Dulce. With the rains, how will the pools be? It would be a shame to make the trip and have muddy water you can’t really swim in. Should I just allocate time elsewhere ? I also have a ten year old with me. Thanks for the help!
A:
Be honest, no idea in rainy season, sorry couldnt help
