Have there been recent bear sightings in the park? I've never camped in bear country before so welcome any tips to ease the anxiety! Staying 2 nights later this month in the Hidden Springs campground.

We’ve been to the park hiking many times but not camping. Whenever we go, we stop to talk to the rangers before proceeding. They have the current info on conditions including cougars and bears. In general, we always travel with bear spray as an extra precaution especially when in the more remote areas, but the rangers are your most reliable source of bear info for your camping stay.
Is there a bad time visit and see these massive beautiful trees? Are the trees beautiful green all year round? I’m thinking about a trip out in a couple of weeks- mid February. Thoughts? Thanks!!!

Anytime is good for wandering around these wonderful Redwoods. Since you are going in winter make sure you have waterproof gear.
