The Hestercombe Gardens Trust is an independent charitable trust. We rely on our dedicated team of volunteers and all proceeds from admissions, membership, retail and events to support the continued restoration, maintenance and development of the gardens. Famous for our unique collection of gardens which span three centuries of garden history and design, our Formal Garden is hailed as one of the finest examples of the world-renowned partnership between garden designer Gertrude Jekyll and architect Sir Edwin Lutyens. Hestercombe House and Gardens has undergone acclaimed restoration works and continues to develop and grow giving our visitors a stunning setting to explore, learn and relax.

Hi Janet, There's plenty for children to do here at Hestercombe. During school holidays (and throughout December) we put on fun, exploratory trails; at Christmas there are Father Christmas experiences and family theatre, plus family skating. During the summer we hold Terrific Tuesdays based around the outdoors, arts and crafts. Outside of holidays, there are around 50 acres of grounds and gardens for children to run around and explore. We have a small play area too, and a child-friendly cafe menu.
