I will be staying at Reykjavik but I am hoping to visit this area (Akureyki) too. Should I do a day trip? Is this a nice place to visit? Is this place included in the golden circle bus trip?
A:
It is a beautiful place to visit. But it is on the Ring Road at least 4 hours from Reykjavik by car, so it is really an overnight trip. And it is not in the Golden Circle.
Is it easy accessible in March? Planning to add it on our ring road list.

Hi Lorie. I'm a local, living 15 minutes from the waterfall. I recommend a Lake Myvatn daytour from the Cruise ship, Godafoss is included in Lake Myvatn day tours from various tour operators like myself. Pickup and drop off is where you dock in Akureyri. Best regards, KIP - Tour Guide in Iceland.
AdHike to world-class waterfalls, kayak into dramatic fjords & visit secluded seaside towns. Enjoy the long summer days searching for humpback whales, nesting puffins & gannets.
