It is part of the St. Josep…De Kalb is a city in southwest Buchanan County, Missouri, United States. The population was 233 at the 2020 census. It is part of the St. Joseph, MO–KS Metropolitan Statistical Area. De Kalb was originally known as Bloomington, and under the latter name was laid out in 1839. It was renamed in 1851 for Johann von Robais, Baron de Kalb, a major general in the American Revolutionary War. A post office called De Kalb has been in operation since 1840.
