Five of us drove around most of Lake Arenal. We stopped at a couple of spots on our trip. Some nice interesting views. The volcano was covered by clouds most of the time. Full review by Edwin F

It's a lake. No different or better than millions of other lakes. Really, might as well be in Minnesota or Idaho. It is a long drive, Neuvo Arsenal was kinda fun. Full review by Christopher A

On our Caravan Costa Rica 8 day tour we drove around this lake on our way to Guanacaste Province. The lake is man-made for hydro power purposes. It took 1 year to fill the lake. Full review by KnitsbyConnie

Can one swim in Lake Arenal throughout the entire year, or only during certain months?

Yes it can be cool though. Make sure if your up that way you walk down to the falls at La Fortuna. Also the hot springs

There is a spot to enter for swimming where there is a hit with blue kayaks on a slope, may be in the east side, not fair from the main road
